About us, publishing principles and corrections
Balita Ngayon is an automated Philippine news portal. Every few minutes it collects headlines from the country's largest news organizations, sorts them into sections — balita, chismis (showbiz), panahon (weather), sports, negosyo (business) and probinsya (regions) — and links every story to the publisher that reported it.
Publishing principles
- Attribution first. We show a headline, a short excerpt (at most 300 characters) and the publisher's name. The full story is always on the publisher's site.
- Philippine sources. Headlines come from GMA News, Inquirer, Rappler, Philstar, The Manila Times, Abante Tonite, ABS-CBN News, Manila Bulletin, Philippine News Agency, GMA Showbiz, ABS-CBN Entertainment, PEP.ph, BusinessWorld, SunStar, and other Philippine outlets surfaced through Google News.
- Original daily report. The Ulat ng Araw is written automatically by Balita Ngayon from the day's coverage counts, trending keywords and Open-Meteo forecast data. It is labeled as automated and links every item to its source.
- Weather. Forecasts are model data from Open-Meteo.com. For typhoon signals and official warnings, always follow PAGASA.
Ethics
We do not rewrite, alter or editorialize publishers' headlines, and we do not accept payment to feature stories. Sponsored or advertorial items found in feeds are filtered out.
Corrections
Headlines update automatically when publishers correct them in their feeds. To report an error or ask for a story or source to be removed, contact the site owner and we will act on it within 24 hours.
